The Bottom Line: Not recommend, why? It just doesn't worth your soon-to-be-$95 annual fee.

first, let me talk about the bright side of Diner's Club card,
1) you can have the primary auto collision & damage insurance when you rent a car, this is only available at Diner's Club if I remember it right. usually CDW is about 13 big buck per day.
2) fee-free when you purchase travelers cheques at Citibank. usually the fee is 1.5%.
3) good customer service based on my personal experience.
now, let's talk about the dark side, the one and only one drawback to me is this card is not widely accepted in US!!
when I say "not widely accepted", I actually mean it's virtually not accepted in my daily life:
not accepted in groceries stores,
not accepted in most retail stores,
not accepted in most online stores,
not accepted in most restaurants.
diner's club card is much more accepted in Europe, that's why I cannot believe why Citigroup does such bad job to expand the acceptance in US market. While I enjoying the reward program and the many benefits it offers as I stated above, I really think this card is useless when most of the time it is not accepted.
I have to say that things got improved recently, some retail stores start accepting it, such as B&N, some online store begin to accept it,such as Amazon.com, and I can use this card at some gas stations. but this is far below enough. When the annual fee will soon increase another 20% to $95, I expect Diners Club spend MORE effort to increase its acceptance. American Express can do it, Europe can do it, US diners club has to make it happen!
If not, I will cancel my account before they charge me annual fee next time. why pay big buck for something you can't even use.
