Pros:They give people a chance that either have no credit or bad credit.
Cons:Their increases are very tight. It takes a while to prove credit worthiness.
The Bottom Line: If you are having credit problems and you are COMMITTED to pay them on time. You should go for it!
I just wanted to give you my opinion on the First Premier Secured Visa. I originally applied for their Unsecured Visa but after checking my credit I did not qualify. However they did offer me their secured card with a 200.00 minimum deposit. I mailed them a 200.00 money order and 3 weeks later I got my card. It is good for little things. I went out and got my girlfriend flowers for her birthday and immediately paid the card back in full to avoid finance charges. Now I sent them 300.00 for a deposit to make my card a 500.00 limit. On June 13, 2001 I sent another 250.00 deposit through Western Union and it posted in less than 24 hours for an increase. This card has changed my life for the better. I went on a trip to Rhode Island with my First Premier Visa and I had a 1250.00 limit and that was more than enough to cover my hotel reservation. It was also a very smooth transaction. When I got home from the trip my 100.00 deposit I sent them cleared and I also deposited 350.00 through Western Union and as of this day my limit is 1700.00 so now I feel more secure. The reps are very friendly to me and I want to thank First Premier Bank for giving me a chance to prove myself to them.
