Aspire Visa is a RIP OFF. Do not get a card Firstly, it is impossible to locate a customer service phone number. I had my credit card STOLEN and had no way to contact the company to cancel the card while charges to it kept going. When I did finally locate a telephone number (online; someone else, like yourself complained about its not being listed even on statements and posted it) the place was CLOSED! But the problems kept coming. I had serious issues with the online bill pay, so much that I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. My online statements showed different balances due than the paper statements.. Because of this 'discrepancy' whatever I paid would always be insufficient regardless. Such being the case, the company would go ahead and charge me late fees. Any payment I made to correct the situation would be retroactively applied. So even though I was paying more than the minimum payment, the company only considered each month's payment as a payment towards the previous month's balance. I would have had to send in two different payments for it to actually count. I also had to pay attention to the dates my payments were made. I had issues paying my bills early as well. Any payment made EARLY on the account before the 15th of the month as well would get applied towards the previous month's statement, not the bill actually due. So, bam, charged with ANOTHER late fee. This was infuriating. I must of called customer service ten times to get an explanation. Problems kept going though. I try to pay most of my bills online in this digital age rather than send in a physical check. Can't make payments over the phone without being charged a $15 fee... But my 'online payment due' was never correct. Most of the time it said $0 was owed. I assumed, once again, that my paying the balance early was being reflected on the online statement page. Well, I was wrong. Apparently to find the balance due, I would have to look at my paper statements each month when making a payment instead. I mean, should the online statement not be the same as the paper statement?! More importantly should the balances showing not be the correct balances due?! Problems don't stop there. The billing dates kept changing as well. You know how most credit cards and bills are due on the same day each month, well my Aspire card's never were. Some month's billing cycles were even under thirty days. This can really screw someone up when they are just trying to keep their credit in line. Absolutely ridiculous. I was also thrilled to find my interest rate crept up without notice (which is illegal) and new fees sprung up unexplained each month. Not that I want to keep or even use the card, but it is noteworthy to mention that after the letter to the Better Business Bureau, my credit on the card has since been frozen. I can't wait to check my credit to see how badly the 'rebuilding credit card' has ruined my score. I'm a pretty responsible consumer who was just trying to fix their credit problems created while in college. Frustrating to say the least. But in case someone else requires the customer service number here it is: 1-866-816-6993. Good luck getting through.
