Enclosed letter to Discover Card.
"I am writing to express my frustration with the service at Discover Card. Let me briefly recount my experience:
I have had my Discover Credit Card for over 5 years with no
problems what so ever. However, I have run into some financial
problems and fell behind 5 months. I'm trying to pay back what I
owe, but it seems impossible to catch up when Discover isn't
willing to help their customers when they are unable to keep up
with the late, over limit fees, and finance charges. It seems to
me if they want to keep their customers they would be willing to
have a forgiveness policy like some of the other credit cards
companies.
I am a loyal customer of Discover Card. As a result of this
experience I might/might not use Discover Card again. I definitely
will tell people about this matter. I believe that this kind of
service will have a negative impact on your business.
I know that you wish to correct this situation as quickly as
possible, so I am asking that Discover Card work with their loyal
customers when they are having difficulties. I much rather pay my
debt than be forced to file bankruptcy. I feel that if Discover
would give 6 months of no late fees, no over limit fees and no
finance charges. They could get paid back, not lose a customer
and everyone would be happy. Not to push the issue, but I have
found exactly that with the other Credit Card companies I have an
account with."
Citibank is the card I was referring to in this letter. I've had my Citibank card since '93 and even though my account is closed in December my 6 mos. is up and I can reapply for full privileges once again. Those 6 mos. is exactly what I needed without those additional charges to get back on track. My credit report already states from them that it is going to a positive status.
