| s126shadow's Full Review: Fifth Third Bank |
I had a checking account at Fifth Third bank for the past 18 years. Lately, due to error on my part, my account became overdrawn. In the past month, Fifth Third has charged me $1,200 in overdraft fees. Mind you that is just the overdraft fees. The amount of items that went through is not in that total.
I went into my branch yesterday to pay the account off. (I was overdrawn again because it is like a snowball rolling downhill when it starts) I asked her the amount that I needed to pay to close the account. She quoted it to me in a not too friendly tone. I promptly gave her the cash and asked if there was anything I needed to sign. She said no. I asked again, "so my checking account is now closed, right?"
She said yes.
Okay today I got online out of curiosity to see if I could still log into my account.
Guess what? It is still active and showing a minus balance of $66 which are more overdraft fees. I haven't written a check on that account for 2 weeks and nothing has gone through since last Friday.
Something should be done about Fifth Third. If enough people get the word out about them and enough people withdraw their accounts maybe Fifth Third might get the idea that you really do need customers to run a business. To keep those customers requires having good customer service and managers who's hearts are shriveled up and black as coal!!
