Pros: lots of branches in both Cincinnati and Dayton
Cons: customer service, charge for every ridiculous thing
The Bottom Line: If you expect great customer service when you are the customer, as I do then I would look elsewhere!

| cole45068's Full Review: Fifth Third Bank |
I too was a happy customer of Citizens Federal and hated to see the merge with Fifth Third. Nevertheless, I have stayed with them bank for the last seven years through all of their mistakes and they haven't been little mistakes.
I was initially ticked because they charge for every little thing you want, you want a printout of your account, that'll be a charge per page...They have attempted to cash one of my checks from someone else's account (insufficient funds), I got it straightened out, along with money credited back to my account, but try telling that to your landlord. I went to two different branches to get my name changed upon marriage and it still never got done, after inquiring I was told I would have to go back to the branch that I originated the account from - real convenient as I now live 30 miles away from that branch and I have two other branches within 10 miles.
Soon after, I fill out the paperwork to add my husband to my account so we can order new checks. The check company says it has to have verification from the bank since my old checks did not have my husband's name on them, easy enough, we go to a branch close to our house, take the paper from the check company and the teller signs the paper, done right - wrong. Months go by and my husband is writing checks on our account, depositing money, etc. One particular day he takes a two party check in to cash it and guess what? He is told he can get into "big trouble" for attempting to cash the check as he is not on the account! To say the least I went back the next day with my husband and blew my stack, only to have the teller get an attitude with me...
The latest is that the branch that is closest to my house, which my husband frequents, will no longer accept deposit slips from the back of the checkbook, they will only accept the three-part forms that you get inside the bank. Now I have a big problem with that as I have never had the two branches that I go to tell me that, they simply write down my account number on one of their receipts and the deposit amount - what is wrong with these lazy people and the administration that allows them to tell customers the only way that they will accept their money?
That is the last straw and I will be changing banks, probably to a credit union that is not quite as convenient but is more customer oriented!
