I have been a card holder of household bank for over 10 years and have encountered numerous problems with mishandeling of my account and offensive customer service operators. Late payment charges would occurr on my account each month and when I contacted customer service because the account was paid on time I was told that payment was actually due to them 7 days before the due date so they had time to processit. If the payment was not processed late charges would be assesssed and they refused to remove them.
When my purse was stolen and checking account information was tkaen I had to place a hold on my bank account, my credit card payment was made but had not been processed and I had to place a hold on my account due to the theft. I contacted this compny to ask if I could have a 2 day extension to get another individual to send a check my request was denied. The opeartor informed me if a payment was not received that day which was a day before the due date she would mark it as late and contact the credit bureau. I was also informed by her supervisor that it was my fault the payment would be late and there was nothing she could do if my credit card information was stolen the thief would just get over on me and I would be responsible for all charges made for a period of 10 days after the card was reported stolen. I immediately canceled my account and have contacted the BBB about the business practices of this company.
