I was a MBNA cardholder when I was in college because they offered me a card with my school's logo on it. MBNA has an excellent marketing scheme because you can get a card with almost any organization logo on it. They also had a decent introductory rate offer. Those are about the only good qualities about the MBNA card. I was very disappointed when I first called the customer service number and waited 15 minutes. I didn't like the quality of the monthly statements either.
The thing that bothered me the most about the MBNA card was that they sent me balance transfer checks every month! I know something like that is not a big deal but I found it quite rude. I don't trust credit card companies that prey on their customers by tempting them with easy money. Having a card with a logo that you like is also a temptation to use it more often.
MBNA focuses their attention on attracting customers with their fancy cards and promotional rates but they fail to offer quality services to their existing customers. Although it is nice having a credit card with your organization's name on it, I don't recommend MBNA.
