Don't get me wrong, it does a lot more then that. Education in particular. Find the Bigeasy Playbook and read that for a taste. The charts are enhanced "Bigcharts" and with scrolling your mouse wheel you can zoom back and forth in time frame. And by clicking and dragging you can zoom in. With configuring you can get three chart styles displayed at once, with many indicators drawn across each. I could go on and on about the features but I don't have all night to write this review.

The star of the show is the screening. With natural language I quickly built my first couple screens and was finding stocks with the momentum and price range I was looking for. I am just now learning the power of the canned screens that comes with BEI. Wowwwww.
I wanted to share this find with you, but selfishly I even more want to see them stay in business for a very long time. They are a sub corp of Ameritrade Holdings so they probably will, but here I am to do my part for I am very grateful to them. So feel free to tell your friends.
Just so you know I didn't just fall off a turnip truck, (actually I did fall off a truck once but that's another story) I will mention that I spent a solid month searching financial mags and the Internet for the best (and also affordable) brokers, direct access brokers and data suppliers. And in the last item I was interested in FREE services and PAY services.
In the free category only StockVue2001 came close. And SV does get at the fundamentals faster and has a well thought out layout, but at the end of using both for a month I find my self using BEI the most by far. At least for my style of research and trading.
In the pay for info category I will say that AIQ, Esignal and Metastock seem to be the best nitty gritty, get to work packages. AIQ comes in last of these for its lack of a pleasing interface, at least as it was displayed on its web site. But definitely has natural language screen building that the other two do not state. Metastock is a $400 one time purchase of very impressive charting software. Where as Esignal (owned by the same company as Metachart) appears to me to offer about the same by its self. Esignal and AIQ are available for ~$50 to $99 dollars a month. I plan on using the $99 Level II Esignal along with a S&H cost trial version of Metastock and the $60 Level I AIQ at the same time starting sometime in the next month. If I see some feedback, ratings, etc, on this review I will post full reviews on the other products mentioned.
Well I see I have been long winded again, so I will sign off and wish you happy hunting.
p.s. Datek bye far wins in public opinion and in my actual experiences with them they have been great. Their a bit slow posting your deposits, (ten business days) but other then that, it's smooth sailing. myTrack for direct access. Their technology is older so I bet they will come in about the same with Datek on speed but 50% more expensive. On the other hand only $250 buys you into DA trading. Yet Datek is in beta with DAT right now. 2-22-01
