I have been a customer of Citizens Bank for the past six years. The number and variety of checking account packages that they offer is what first attracted me to the bank. They have a special account for aimed at new college graduates and those just starting out in life called Basicheck which charges no monthly fee and requires no minimum balance.
During my Junior year of college, I held an internship position in another state where I needed to open a checking account at a different bank. Not only was I required to keep a minimum balance of $500.00 in the account to avoid a monthly fee, I also received a $3.00 fee each time I used an ATM. At Citizens Bank I have never been charged a fee to withdraw my own money and have enjoyed being able to write a limitless amount of checks per month without the fear of yet another fee. This is why I highly recommend Citizens Bank products for college students and new hires who require the convenience of having easy access to their funds without having the fear of being loaded with fees.
