A Fantastic Banking Experience

I have been a customer of City National Bank for approximately four years now. I have my car and other miscellaneous loans, business accounts, and personal accounts with City National, and I have to say, I've had nothing but fantastic experiences with them.
Customer Service
City National is a large community bank, with branches spread out through Miami-Dade and Broward counties. As a result, most of the officers in each branch know officers well from other branches. This is a great characteristic because I always feel like I am significant. When I've banked with other institutions such as NationsBank, I've always felt like an insignificant stranger. At City National, I'm made to feel like I'm their most important customer. If I am at a branch that is not my own, and I have a special task that needs approval such as immediate clearance of an out-of-town check, all I have to do is mention my officer's name and a 15 second phone call is made leading to clearance of my check.
Personal Banking
With services including checking, savings, CDs and online banking, City National offers a full arsenal of banking services competitive with any national chain's services. Their online banking is free for the first year, which is a great deal and certainly worth trying out. They offer a full arsenal of checking and savings accounts ranging from no minimum balance with various fees to accounts with sustained balances and no fees.
Business Services
City National provides merchant services, trust accounts and any other type of account a business could need.
Loans
This is my favorite element of City National because of how they have taken care of me. In the past, I have had credit problems, which prevented me from easily finding low interest rates for a car loan. When I approached City National, they offered me a car loan at 9.5% (which at the time was only a half-point higher than the best rates available to people with even the best possible credit histories).
They also gave me other loans to help with the startup of my business. When times have been rough, they have been flexible enough to allow me to miss a payment or two without severe penalty. This is what I consider a great banking relationship.
Conclusion
Great customer service and an arsenal of banking services that rivals any national chain make using City National a fantastic banking experience. Their officers are sensitive to my needs and very well organized. Further, the bank is a community bank, which means they are sensitive to the community's needs, unlike national chains which set policies based on their concept of national trends.
Moral of the story? Go with City National. I promise you will be just as impressed with them as I am.
