First off let me be upfront about a bank that has no care in the world for its customers! The Customer Service Representatives this bank hires MUST be born and breed just to be with the worst attitudes!
Let me tell you their options:
Value Checking, Balance Checking, Interest Plus Checking. Investment Checking,Senior Checking,Student Finance 101,Standard Savings/Star Savers Club, Preferred Savers Club Account,Indexed Money Market Account,Money Fund Plus.
They also have 24 hour banking service, Super ATM, Voice Banking, Internet Banking,PC banking, Video Banking, Branch Banking,Bill Pay
There is a branch here in Milwaukee (58th & Capitol) that is just the most HORRIBLE bank I EVER banked at. The employees are uneducated about how "SERVICE" is supposed to be.The other day I went into this bank where I make MANY transactions, whether it be through the drive-thru or walk in. I have 2 accounts here (sadly and the worst mistake).
The first is my checking account, which is good for me. I get my checks through an online company since Firstar would charge me $25.00 for a box of checks, which would be about 300 checks. And I usually go through them fairly quickly. So I go with another company to supply these.
Although they have many checking accounts to suit just about everyones lifestyle. I have direct deposit from my job so I get the checking FREE (whoopty-do). But I still have to pay for my checks. And there always seems to be a "SERVICE FEE" whatever this is for I have NO idea.
There is a variety of savings accounts to that can be accommadating. But there is always a CATCH to every account they have. And what you need to be wary of is which one you open and with how much money. Some you may have to keep up to $2000.00 on a daily(that goes some for checking too and that's a minimum).Even then you get charged for taking too much of your money out of the account.Like $5.00 a day it's below your minimum.
For instance I opened a savings account for both of my children. Each starting out with $500.00, but one day my son wanted to go and make a withdraw of $100.00 to buy some new shoes and a gift for his auntie who was coming to visit for Christmas.
We went into the bank with a withdraw slip in hand, only to wait for 45 minutes with only 1 teller working with about 25 people in line. The others were standing in the background joking and eating!!!(And no I still didn't receive my $5.00 credit for waiting in line longer than the 15 minutes allowed).
We FINALLY get to the teller for the STUPID and IGNORANT Teller to tell me that my son couldn't withdraw HIS OWN MONEY. I asked her why and she seemed like I was a bother to her! SO I said VERY RUDELY "WHY??" She says to me "Because the minimum is $500.00." I asked her to explain to me exactly what his account was about. Again she had the look like I was a bother to her. So I said "Well why not get me a person with a better attitude and some education about their job then!"
By this time I was fed up, especially after waiting for 45 minutes in line then to have this ignorant person to tell me that we couldn't take out my own money.
So she gets me a supervisor who in turn explains to me the exact details of the 2 new accounts I opened, which DID NOT have a minimum like the other IGNORANT teller had said. But that the one I opened did have a $250.00 minimum.None of this was told to me by the person who opened these accounts for me.
But although I did get to withdraw all my money from kids savings accounts (which now have been moved to Tri-City Bank). I was having a horrible time with my money, now the HUGE PROBLEM starts here.
I had just recieve my refund tax check back (I did the rapid refund), well I went to pick up my check and thought yeah I can go get the kids some new clothes.
WELL,, I went to the bank to deposit my check. They tell me that they have to put a hold on the check. I asked them why and they give me the excuse that because it's a "LOAN" they cannot credit my account and that there would be a 10 hold on the check!!! I went off! They are getting paid by the bank who issued me the check, which in turn will be paid by the IRS.
I asked them why? When last year they just deposited into my account. They said that I didn't have enough money in my account. (I should have had close to $15,000 total in both the accounts I have there).
When there should have been more than plenty, just got paid and I have a large sum already in my savings.
Then they tell my that I have no money in my savings or checking! I was burning up now,,then I told her to give me my check back and to meet me inside with a supervisor.
By now I am so tired of this bank that all I want to do is find my savings (which should have been about $12,000 and my checking should have been near $2300.00 and there was no money at all. Like I withdrew everything.Like I never had no account there at all.
What happened to my money!??
Okay now I had to go inside and wait for a supervisor which took another 2 HOURS for them to assist me, but I wasn't going to leave this bank without ALL OF MY MONEY!!
Then to have the supervisor come and tell me that I was making a problem with the tellers. I in turn SNAPPED !! Telling her I wanted ALL OF MY MONEY AND I WANT IT NOW!! I got so loud that the security guy came and I asked him "DO YOU HAVE MY MONEY??" and he told me that I needed to calm down. I said no I don't not when they have close to $15,000 of my money and there is no show of it in my account.
He then shut his mouth and let me talk to this so called supervisor. I told her I wanted all of my money and I wanted her to do it as quickly as possible.
Well they finally fixed and found out what happened to my accounts. The drive thru teller had went ahead and put a hold on ALL of my accounts without even asking me,then she didn't even deposit the tax check.
So please anyone please be VERY cautious when working with this bank, especially at this particular location. I changed to Tri-City which I find to be a very friendly educated and caring bank. Who the teller (Sari & Tamm) both know me and my family and greet us as such. This bank is even open on Sundays from 10am-5pm and in just about any Pick-N-Save grocery store.
I will not ever do any banking again with Firstar or any of its sister branches. They will not loose my money again.
Oh yeah this is supposed to be their motto :
The Five Star service guarantee..We at Firstar are commited to superior customer service. That's why we have The Five Star Service Guarantee. It's our way of saying youwill get focused and attentive customer service from every branch, every Firstar Banker, EVERYDAY???
YEAH RIGHT NOT AT THE ONE I WAS BANKING AT!!
