After doing hours of research on looking for the best checking account, I finally signed up for the "Libery-Plus" account.

I have had no regrets with signing up for this account. I have NEVER been charged ANY fees. I am getting the same interest on my checking account as my savings account with a credit union. They just upgraded their online system, with much better functionality (inquiring about charges, transferring funds between accounts, and online bill pay to hundreds of merchants). You can also use Bill Pay to just pay some random person. You put in the "payee info" and then the bank will cut the check and mail it for you. This way you don't have to worry about writing a check, finding a stamp, and mailing it.
I haven't found another checking account that compares with this one. The ones that come close are for Internet banks, and with those you don't have the convenience of making deposits in their ATMs (compared to Bank of America's huge ATM network).
I even get 10 cents for every purchase made on my visa check card (no matter what the amount). Each month its a pleasure to see an interest and check card bonus credit on my account.
The best thing is that I have never been charged any fees as there are virtually no requirements for the checking account(no minimum balance, no direct deposit required). With the Liberty Plus account you can also use 5 non Bank of America ATMs each month (the owner of the ATM can still charge their fee though).
The only thing thing that slightly bothers me is when some of the updates are made online. For instance, I will deposit a $400 check into the ATM. A credit for ~$105 will be credited into my account instantly, this can not be seen by me online or heard by phone (It is still there though).

Overall, I have been very satisfied with this checking account and haven't found anything that comes close to it. If you can get one, you will be happy with it.
