| mdoeden's Full Review: TCF National Bank Minnesota |
Everyone has different needs from a bank. For many, high interest rates on savings and checking accounts are important. Some consider professionalism to be the most important feature of a bank. Others like friendly staff who greet the customer with a warm smile.
And then there's TCF.
It’s not your father’s bank. No warmth. No sense of professionalism. Earn next to nothing in interest. There’s a very real chance you may actually leave the bank laughing at the treatment you got.
So why be a TCF customer? One reason - convenience. No bank I know of offers better hours. Can't get to the bank during business hours? No problem. Most are open at least until 8 p.m. Have a lot of errands to run? No problem - go to the bank at the grocery store. Many grocery store chains include TCF banks inside, including Cub and Jewel.
Another reason to be with TCF? Totally free checking. That didn't used to be a big deal, but in today's market, it's becoming rarer and rarer. No teller fees. No minimum balances. No hassles. And of course, no interest.
It’s not for everyone. But if you’re a college student, or if your schedule is too demanding to allow you time for banking during business hours, TCF may be a solution for you.
