Home Loan Problems / Phone # problems (Reply to this comment)

I had a home loan with Wachovia since 2002. They have a company called Homeq Servicing out of Sacrmento CA, with customer service # 1-877-867-7378. BIG PROBLEM with the phone number is they don't tell you how to get a "live" person. I tried "0", "*", and #. And if you press #, they will say you have pressed an invalid key, we'll transfer you to an agent. I recommended they change this system 2 years ago, to say, if you want to speak to someone, press this key, but they never did.
Also, NEVER obtain a home loan with a prepayment penalty. I did and can't see my home until Sept 2004 when the penalty expires. I called to see if they can waive it, and they said no. I asked what if I pay a substantial amount of the principal and they said no. They said read what's in the contract. The contract only says, "if I make any FULL prepayment of the principal, i will pay 2% of the outstanding principal balance".
