Webster bank is neither simpler nor better. They charge you a "fee" or a "service charge" every time you breath or turn around. In my town, First Federal was taken over by the faceless mask of Webster Bank a few years ago. Many people took their money home and hid it under their mattresses as I did for several reasons that are as follows:

1. Their CD rates are horrid. You are better off investing in butter futures than putting your money in a Webster Bank CD.

2. Here's my trump card - I worked at a bank in the same town as a Webster branch and I can not count how many people would come in with large checks from a closed out Webster account, to put into an account with our bank.

3. We had 4 employees at our bank that had left employment at Webster because of how they treated their staff.

4. Tellers and Customer Service Reps are rude and can't be bothered with your small banking needs compared with their large multi-conglomerate high-profile account. It just ISN'T hometown banking. And for me, I want my money where I know that #1, it's safe. and #2, I can speak to someone with a pulse and who actually is concerned about what my money is doing because they know that I'M concerned
