PAYPAL-Ebay/Paypal Buyers protection ? WRONG!

Cons: buyer protection stinks,high fees,horrid customer service.
The Bottom Line: Avoid them if you can. Peoples complaints about this company are growing at a very fast pace.

It's not my month on ebay..I have been an ebay member for about 7 years. I've bought and sold tens of thousands of dollars of items. Paypal was nice-till ebay bought them a few years ago.
My bad ebay purchases this month included pirated Adobe software that seemed legit till I called Adobe inquiring why the serial number would not go thru.
My next bad item was a new purse I bought from a "Powerseller" purse seller that specializes in purses;bad cheap purses. Unfortunately the purses appear to be made with toxic smelling PVC vinyl(represented as "leather like") and being sold to the masses.
The photos looked good on the auction and I only paid $10.00 plus $15 shipping(way overpriced). I noticed many buyers got sucked into buying this same purse for more than $40 so maybe I was luckier than most ? It's not the matter of the $25.00 in so much the principal of receiving defective merchandise and proving without a doubt that with professional hi res photos posted online and sent via fax that this was defective.
My 5 year old neighbor even refered to said purse as "ewe-icky poo poo!"
She knows her stuff better than Paypals resolution team!
I had contacted the seller thru the ebay system 3 times and never received a response before filing a "Paypal resolution" complaint.
My issues with this purse were:
Threads coming out of the zipper area making it impossible to close the purse.
White glue showing all over
crooked sewn seams
slopping overlapped stitching on the strap that showed. Loose stitching at the bottom of the bag.
It reeks of PVC plastic. I had to wrap it up and put it in the basement it smells so toxic! Isn't this illegal to even manufacture ?
By accident I had ticked on their resolution complaint form the area where it says,"Not authentic goods" The purse was not represented as a designer bag but was stated that it was "leather like"
in two areas of the description. When I noticed this I had emailed them immediately to say that all of the other points I checked off were correct except for that one.
I had to fax a letter with my complaint as well as images. I did that. then I received and email from them stating that I need to get an appraisal or validation that the item was "not authentic." I replied that "authentic" was not my problem that this was defective goods. Anyway,an appraisal would cost over $100 and that wasn't even the issue anyway!
Then I received a response that they had ruled in favor of the the seller since I failed to prove the bag was not authentic. My case is now closed and they will not resolve. I tried calling and emailing and I am basically in "Tough luck ebay buyer" land with them.
I hate the fact that I have to deal with PAYPAL for business as some of my clients insist on paying my business in this manner.
In doing an online search for this company I see over 2 million complaints on sites.Amazing that they have so much power and control over peoples lives that the government has not stepped in.
I plan on filing a complaint with the Attorney General in California against this ebay seller and possibly against Paypal. I am not the only one that has complained about the quality of this sellers goods and never received a resolution over this.
If you plan on buying purses on ebay feedback can be a real gamble. Sometimes people post positive feedback before they've actually used or examined something. While others that think that because someone has posted a celebrity photo with a purse that they are now "part of the club" and they can look just like Sienna Miller or Victoria Beckham too! Having met both of those ladies,they are not wandering the world with vinyl bags but the real thing that doesn't have crusted white glue all over the seams and stitching.
The purses are the same styles as celebrities wear-but I bought this as a gift for a teenager that adores those two celebs.
Sadly selling junk is how some people make their living.
if you can,avoid PAYPAL and EBAY!
