Here's the deal:
Somebody used my email address as a fake so they can use DLJ Direct. Why somebody would do this, I have no idea! So, after I received my first emailing from this company, I sent them a reply email telling them I don't have an account with them and to please remove me from the mailing list. They replied back in a timely manor and told me I need to call the customer service line and have them remove me (Why I would have to go this route, beats me). So I call the customer service line, was on hold for the usual 15 minutes and finally reached somebody. I told them what happened and they told me I won't get another email from DLJ Direct again! Well, within the next couple of days, I received another email from DLJ Direct for some sort of "Trade Talk" information. I called the customer service line, went through the same song and dance again and they promised me that I was removed from the email list. I said..."Ok, Thanks" and was on my merry way.
Guess what happened a few days later. Yup, yet another "investor information" email. Sooooo, I call DLJ Direct once again. By now, I had the Customer "Service" number memorized. Went through the whole ordeal with a representative of DLJ Direct and he told me that he won't suspend the account because the investor that used my email address has a "Substantial account history".
I ended the phone call with DLJ Direct and called AOL (my ISP) to see what they could do for me. An AOL rep. told me to block the email address in the mail control panel. I replied, "But I already did that!". Then the AOL rep. told me that they were bouncing the emails they were sending me from another email address, which is illegal! I was instructed to call DLJ Direct one more time and if they refused to remove me from the mailing list, AOL will file a class action lawsuit against DLJ Direct for harassment.
So, I called the DLJ Direct customer service line (which is in my speed dial) and asked them to take me off. The rep. told me she would get my email address off the list (she personally promised me).
Lets see if she can get it right! If not, then I guess they will have a class action lawsuit to deal with!
*Don’t Forget: Whether my opinion “Wowed!” you to the fullest extent or you think it's the most worthless piece of writing you've seen, please, remember to rate writing!
