Edward D Jones is not your run of the mill investment groups. They pride themselves on being a sound future investment company that deals with long term low risk investments for the modern day strategic investor.
I have had on and off experiences with Edward D Jones and have been very satisfied with their work, but as their reputation holds, they prefer to steer you into long term oriented investments. They much prefer to invest in Fortune 500 companies who have a proven track of keeping a stable stock price and maintain even leveled splits over the course of years. Some of these include IBM, Wal-Mart, Home Depot and others of the like.
Edward D Jones also attempts to help their customers secure their future with investments and intiatives to set up a retirement plans and future college expenses for children. These investments are almost always the result of gains from the long term investments pushed for.
For those investors who prefer to jump into the current IPO craze, Edward Jones is not the place for you to work with. They do not actively watch these stocks since their clientele are more stable, low risk investors.
Edward D Jones also boasts a large service fee and transaction fee for their services. Based on this alone, I have withdrawn most of my activity with this firm and placed it with other Investment firms or Internet Investment firms (the wave of the future).
Overall, if you consider yourself to be a low risk taker in the market and prefer to have long term capitalization, check out Edward Jones, they are just what you are looking for.
