So what does Fidelity charge? (Reply to this comment)
by tahurviejo
Excuse me. You said that you left Sharebuilder to return to Fidelity because S/B's fees are too high. So let us know what fees you pay to Fidelity per trade and to maintain your account.?

They are running a special for the beginning of the year with A Portfolio Builder option - you should look into it!

Nice Review. I was looking to start investing online, but wasn't sure where to go. Your review did it. Now, I have my fingers crossed.

The only account maintenance fees are for IRAs. Otherwise you can choose your plan. With mine, I pay just $4 per trade.
Good luck!

Oh yes, they are wonderful in being able to have an account and not have to worry about the fees! I am so very happy with them. Just got my last two checks from MSDW - happy to invest now with Sharebuilder instead.
Thanks for the comment

I used (Reply to this comment)

to have an Ameritrade account, but closed that out after the fees seemed to get more numerous than anything else. Then Delta offered a program to earn skymiles with Sharebuilder, so I opened an account a few months ago - and so far I've really liked it. Overall, for someone like me who doesn't invest that much - the fees are significantly less than a larger brokerage.
Great review as always,
Jeff

It's those per month fees that stink. Unless you're going to be trading a whole lot, they just don't make sense. Sharebuilder has so ar been pretty good to me.

I was with a buyandhold.com account. They only took a $4 transaction fee, but then after that they started charging me a $7 per month fee. I was like 'screw that' then closed my account and moved it over to Fidelity with my other investments like my ROTH and what not.
