I used the "Live Help" feature this morning for the first time since I opened my account just over a year ago. Was I surprised when I was able to chat online with a Suretrade rep in less than 2 minutes! And I got the answer I needed right away!
This is a BIG improvement over the last time I needed help. A couple months ago I placed an order for a couple hundred dollars of stock. The next day I checked pending orders, order status, and executions. I saw no sign of the order I'd placed. I placed the order again. Next thing I knew I had two orders and had spent twice as much as I had expected. I e-mailed Suretrade to find out what had happened. In about a week they e-mailed some vague "form letter" answer that really didn't answer my question.(I suppose I would have been angrier if the stock hadn't gone through the roof before I got the e-mail!)
Since then, I've made several trades without incident, despite the spotty load time for the site. The research tools are above average and easy to use. Their commissions are among the lowest around. And no minimum deposit, either! Unfortunately, the uninvested money that is in my account doesn't earn interest unless I have $100,000! At the other online brokerage I use my money earns over 5% even when I only have a buck and a half laying around.
Hopefully Suretrade will continue to improve at the rate they have over the last 6 months. If they do, They will be one of the best sites around... in another year.
