One thing that the technological revolution and proliferation of the Internet has certainly done: it's brought people of all economic means and geographic regions access to information and opportunities like never before.
One of the sites/e-brokers that best epitomizes this blessing is Suretrade.com
An online broker that is part of the Fleet Financial Group, Suretrade requires no minimum initial deposit (compared with others that run on average about $2,000) and some of the most competitive commission rates and margin rates in the industry.
A standard trade at market order (meaning whatever price you can get your sell or buy order executed at immediately) is just $7.95 for any number of shares. (This applies to stocks $2 and above -- add $5 for stocks that are under $2 which are classified by Suretrade as "penny stocks).
You can also access the e-broker via the phone through their toll-free "Market Touch System" (1-800-362-6275 for account holders only).
With market information and news and data available on stocks for free all across the internet, those who feel comfortable in "doing it themselves" have no need to spend hundreds of dollars in commissions by using a traditional broker.
If you are not ready to make such investment decisions without professional guidance then Suretrade is not right for you. But to be fair no online broker would be.
And while Suretrade *can* be slow, I have found them to be about 99% accurate and efficient in their execution of orders and maintenance of my account.
And ya know what... when they haven't I have e-mailed them (they also have live online agents to help you at their website). And while you have to be persistent, I have NEVER ever found them not to properly rectify the situation.
Suretrade also offers a lot of free market information at their online site that can help you better educate yourself on potential investments or those already in your account. Whether it is news from Briefing.com or comprehensive reports from Baseline, Suretrade is quite complete in providing relevant investment information.
Their quick trade function also simplifies the steps it takes to make a purchase or sale order for a stock which is good when you are on the go, or when market conditions warrant quick and decisive action.
For the money, there is no better deal for bargain-hunting investors or traders. Suretrade.com brings the power of access to people of even the most meager of financial means.
