I've been using SureTrade for about 2 years now and have seenit go from decent to bad to decent again.
The reason I signed up was the $7.95 per trade price. I had an
account with Lombard (now Discover Brokerage) and was satisfied with their service, but figured I didn't need to pay $14.95 for every trade when sure trade was so much lower.
Overall I've been satisfied with Suretrade - BUT there have been
times when the site was way, way too slow and cost me the ability to make a trade. That is one major reason I use more than 1 online broker.
In fact for a few months there were a lot of errors during the time they were upgraded the look and feel.
However, for the last few months I've seen a marked improvement in load times and decrease in errors and have had no problems for at least 2 month.
As far as customer services goes I have found that on the phone
the are helpful and responsive, but for email service they rely on
an automated process that tries to match your questions with
info in their databases and all 3 times I've sent in an email I've
received completely useless advice in return (not even on the
correct topic).
Bottom line - I recommend Suretrade, again because of the price.
But I also recommend keeping at least 1 other online brokerage
account to fall back on.
