Pros: Free Checking, no monthly charges
Cons: No physical bank to walk into; cannot use to verify a PayPal account
The Bottom Line: Use Netbank as your backup bank -- they have always been reliable in my opinion with no hidden fees. No monthly charges is a big plus.

I have been with Netbank since April of 2002, and have basically been happy with them. I originally had my account with CompuBank before Netbank took over. What I liked most is that I could maintain an account with very little money. My checking account is free of any monthly charges, and will not be closed because I sometimes only have $1.00 in it. I also earn interest on it, which is a nice perk.
I wouldn't recommend using them as your #1 bank because it takes almost a week for mailed-in deposits to clear. This could really tie your money up if it was your main account. This is my "play" account where I deposit all my money from the various get-paid-to programs that I participate in.
In Philadelphia, they do supply you with addresses to a lot of ATM's where you can deposit money without being charged surcharge fees. I haven't tried this option yet, but am curious to see if my checks will clear any faster than 5 or 6 days. I also would like to know if I deposited cash at one of their ATM's if it would clear quickly.
I have never had any problems in dealing with customer service, and have always received speedy responses (usually within 24 hours).
One big problem that I recently encountered was that my Netbank account could not be verified through PayPal. They do not accept ACH transfers, and this is the way that PayPal verifies your accounts. So, right now, my PayPal account is worthless to me because I do not have another account that I wish to supply my banking information for to verify my PayPal account.
Overall, I am satisfied with them and will stay with them as a backup banking system.
