This is my way!!! (Reply to this comment)
by nomis1
The web is full of Paypal ex-customers, complaining. The point remains that no one is actually doing anything to stop Paypal wrongdoing. Instead of complaining I will confront the "Genious wonder kid" Max Lepchin,
a stinking immigrant from ex-Soviet Union, and put the gun to his head/
I know well that Paypal will never release my funds, so I decided to send his filthy soul back to his maker.Trust this, once he is gone, Paypal will release all stolen funds to all of you.

They pocketed my $8.16.. (Reply to this comment)
by Mjwidell
I had seriously considered moving the majority of my banking to x.com, and I am sure glad I didn't. I used x.com only a couple times, as most of my auction payments came through Paypal, yet had a $8.16 balance in my X.com account until near the end of Nov.
To bring my balance to $0, I was going to use the x.com debit card and pump $8.16 in gas into my car, but decided to instead write myself an x.com check and deposit it in my Bank One account. Then, a couple weeks later, I followed x.com's instructions to close my account. (The balance at that time said $0, so I had assumed that the checked cleared.)
Today I received my "bounced" check, stamped "account closed", back in the mail from Bank One, and was of course debited the $8.16 as a returned check. Oh well, I guess I should of just used my X.com debit card and pumped myself some gas.
Lesson learned!

I feel differently than Kat about this.... (Reply to this comment)
by frazzledspice, in Personal Finance
When you're reviewing a product, you are reviewing it for potential users of the service at the present time.
I think it's great that you decided to write a new review when the banking service had changed so drastically.
It seems as if Personal Finance and Web Services are both categories where companies are changing terms and adding or deleting services.
I am thinking of redoing Paypal.
Shell Mastercard also changed a few things, and I put an addendum on the review, intending to rewrite it.
It would probably be good if you deleted the first review, though. (Maybe at the end of the month, so that any IS for this month could be credited.)
Fondly,
Fraz

Good to see you back! (Reply to this comment)

Adam,
This is a nice follow up and is welcome. Like times, products and service change and you've done a service by showing how this service deteriorated over time. Good job.
So nice to see you back on track and back on epinions.

Nono & Mom.
I didn't lose anything -- just inconvenience. Actually just an anoyance factor. (I also pocketed (spent!) all my free $$)
Thanks,
Adam

to see if you get a response. The only person I know who made out is my father. He closed his account months ago, pocketing all his "free" money. I stupidly stayed in until the bitter end.

Perhaps you might want to take X.com out of your 'Love It' column? I know I have...

Thanks Kat-
I did decide to keep this seperate -- (since the last review is buried under a year of responses (I will put a note it the other review as well).
Good catch, that was a lazy post.
I have added some background, a link, and a short description of how the company "de-volved" as a preface to the letter.
Adam
ps Hope you're doing well.

this would be better as an addendum to your previous review on x.com? That would give consumers a great overall picture of the bank from start to finish.
Just a thought,
Kat
