Online Banks - Strike Two!

I started writing an epinion about x.com about three months ago. The epinion would have highly recommended X.com's online banking services. Their online checking account WAS a great deal. They offered interest-bearing checking, reimbursed ATM fees, and a free Visa Checkcard. I've been an account holder since February and I've loved using them as my primary bank for my checking account. They were one of the few online banks that offered a fre Visa Checkcard with their accounts. I was even going to check out their PayPal service (a service that allows you to send and receive money anywhere in the world). I don't know much about PayPal so I won't write about it here.
X.com announced that they were going to cancel all of their customer's bank accounts effective on December 1, 2000. This is the second time that an online bank has canceled their banking services on me in the past year (Citi f/i was the other one). Needless to say I am now leary of online banking. I think I will give another online bank a chance. I hope the Epinions community can help me find one that I can trust will survive more than a year. I would also like to find one that offers a free checkcard as well.
