I have worked with several different auto insurance companies. AIG has by far the worst service I have ever experienced. Sure, they are cheap, but the amount of time you spend on hold or on the phone with them trying to straighten out problems negates anything gained by the cheap price. As I write this epinion I am on hold with them. Each time I call I am placed on hold for over 20 minutes, and this time is no exception. Here's the best part: I haven't even had my policy activated yet! They claim that I was involved in an automobile accident, even though I have never been in an accident. They appear to be unwilling to clarify this misunderstanding. The supervisors seem to be unable (or unwilling) to provide me with documentation. If they treat their potential customers like this, I can only imagine how they treat their customers once they have deposited the premium check. What if you have a complicated claim? Yikes! I am taking my money elsewhere. I advise you to do the same. 35 minutes and still on hold.....
