I recently switched from Gieco to Travelers. Thank goodness (knock on digital wood), I have never had a claim with either company. But I have had trouble wtih Travelers that I never had with Gieco. They can't seem to get my billing correct.
I paid in full and then they said I own them $12 more!. Then they keep telling me I should pay quaterly instead of yearly. I want to pay it all at once, get it over with after all. 2 years now and they still can't get it right.

I signed up with Farmers a few months ago and have yet to receive a normal bill. Their lack of communication and organization makes them an absolutely awful insurance company to choose. First they took down my SSN wrong and never called to ask me to verify, it wasn't until I got a notice of cancellation that I called them and asked what the deal was. They said they "figured out" the correct number and all was OK. So I thought all was OK until I received another cancellation notice, I called and they had my Drivers License number wrong! So my policy was cancelled after I had already paid the premium and fees and was then issued a new policy and had to pay the premium and fees all over again. I now have a monthly bill that is double what I signed up for! I would not recommend Farmer's to my worst enemy, they have done nothing but give me added stress and hassle to my life.

I've had Farmers for over 10 years now, and our last accident experience has convinced my husband and I that we need to switch. We're shopping new companies right now!

Susie - very helpful review of your experience. So many people have nightmares with insurance companies... Farmers is just one. May I make a suggestion -- 1) document all of your dealings in writing (your review is a good starting point); 2) contact your State Department of Insurance. If you still don't get satisfaction, you might want to contact an attorney who handles insurance bad faith cases. *** visit www.insure.com for helpful information on insurance companies. Good luck.

Susie,
I'm sorry to hear about the heck you are going through with the insurance company. I know what a pain it is. My husband and I with through the same thing ourselves a few years back. (different company but almost same story) I know how upsetting and frustrating it is.
I sure hope it gets worked out soon. You did an excellent review on the insurance company.
