This company is the biggest scam I have ever encountered. My son's automobile was insured with Geico Direct and unfortunately caught fire while parked in our driveway. The fire department determined the fire was caused by an overheated exhaust, apparently due to a blockage.
The auto burned for two hours before it was discovered, because of the position of the auto it could not be seen from the street. This caused such an intense fire that it melted the siding on both my home (I rent by the way) and my neighbors' home. In fact, when the fire department arrived her home was actually on fire because she was closest to the main auto. It took the fire department two hours to extinguish the auto because apparently the alloy used for exhaust systems is quite voilitile( I know that isn't spelled right but I can't find my dictionary, sorry).
Geico has determined that since my son did not ignite the auto deliberately they did not feel he was negligent and they were not required to pay the liability. Of course, had he done this deliberately, then he would be charged with arson.
On top of that, although he has no points on his record, his insurance was no cheaper than mine with another insurance company.
