Everyone has seen the gecko on television, and Geico has some very funny commercials. They claim to be able to save you money on your car insurance, if you give them 15 minutes of your time. A few years ago I decided to see how true this was, and lifted my posterior off of the couch to make the phone call. I was instantly connected to a service representative at 1-800-861-8380, and was pleasantly surprised to see how much money I would save. My car insurance payments would drop by 25%, and I was absolutely thrilled. After doing some research I decided to sign up, and I've been with Geico ever since.
I had State Farm before, and had mixed results with them. Geico has been outstanding, and I am happy to recommend them. Its true that all of us are sad about forking over money every month to pay car insurance, but it is a necessity and a legal requirement. However, Geico at least makes you feel decent about it, and they offer movie and show discounts to policyholders through their website and customer service line. If you are tired of paying AAA for expensive roadside assistance that takes years to arrive, consider paying $3.99 a month with your insurance policy. My car broke down a few months ago, and I called Geico's number to let them know I would need a tow truck. Fifteen minutes later my car was hitched, and on the way to the service station!
Geico's customer service is outstanding, and I have never had any bad experiences with them. The work environment of their employees must be a lot of fun, because the phone representatives always seem to be in a good mood. In fact, I am convinced I have heard a smile over the phone line with them. They are also very knowledgeable, and always informed of the latest trends in the car insurance industry. They helped me research a "low to insure" vehicle over the phone,before I bought my last vehicle. This helped in my decision, as the first car I picked out was a lot higher to insure.(Due to safety and thefts-Geico is so on top of things!)
I am not a "laid back consumer," however, and I have a reputation for being cheap. Every year I check my "investments", to see if I'm getting the most possible return for my money. Recently I checked out Esurance, which promises to be cheaper than traditional insurers. They claim that they save overhead costs by handling all information over the internet. Even with their frugal business practices, they were 18% more expensive than Geico! Progressive is always chiming up about their ability to compare insurers for you at their website-no one even came close to Geico. That is why I am happy as well, as Geico maintains excellent pricing. They are also very relaxed about speeding tickets-I have two in the last two years and they have not raised my premium. Geico truly represents a great value, and that is why they are the fourth biggest auto insurer in the U.S.
Geico's website is outstanding, and has a lot of features. The load time is extremely fast, and it is very user friendly. The website received an industry award for the best insurance website, and that is because you can complete a lot of tasks online. You can shop and compare insurance plans online, as well as manage your account. You can even pay your insurance bill online, and make changes of your information. The best part is you can track a claim online, and even file a report if you choose to. If you need to find the closest Geico authorized repair shop, that can be found on the site as well. The images are crystal clear, and everything is just a button click away.
Claims is something I have not dealt with personally, as I've been fortunate not to have been in a accident in years.(Knock on wood!) A few of my family members have with Geico, and they were very satisfied with the response and payments. My cousins car was back on the road within a week of a fairly serious wreck, and the work done by the body shop was flawless. There are unreputable insurance companies out there that will barely take care of any issue, but luckily Geico seems to take care of their customers. Although I hope to have no accidents, it is reassuring to know that Geico will take care of me if the need arises. That is why I recommend them,because with Geico you will get what you pay for-excellent service and quality all over.
