Re: What a mess! (Reply to this comment)
by Magick1, in Personal Finance
We believe everything is done, but we are still left holding the bag on a couple of items that they just would not agree to fix.
Last we heard from them was mid-August. They (State Farm) called to get another recorded account of the accident because the other person's insurance company was fighting the claim stating that they were not at fault.
Hopefully, it's done. I drive by that spot everyday on the way to work and I look at the guard rail and check it to see if anyone else has hit it. Every forecast they call for snow, I get tense. It's been a real pain.
Thanks for stopping to comment. It is always appreciated when people take the time to write something to me!

What a mess! (Reply to this comment)

I hope that it has been resolved for you by now. I have actually been with Auto Club for over 14 years now and have been extremely happy. We have had a few small claims and they have never given us a problem. Even my brother had a great experience with them in which another person was "back ended" and they took the time to investigate and found that this person had many other claims in which they popped into reverse real quick to cause the collision. Also I like that I only pay 9 months out of the year so I get 3 months off. Plan it right and you can have the holidays off. I also work for a major insurance company (not Auto Club) and still won't change.

Response... (Reply to this comment)
by Magick1, in Personal Finance
they actually (the insurance commissioner's office) responded to say that State Farm has told us these are not a part of the accident, and they feel they have done all they have had to for us.
If we want further assistance, contact a private attorney to pursue it.
Isn't that peachy.

Still nothing... (Reply to this comment)

amazing how State Farm is sitting on this one and doesn't want to deal with a long-term customer.
As of today, we are still waiting for a response from the Iowa Insurance Dept and State Farm.
The other company is still waiting the paperwork from State Farm to review part of the claim for us on diminuation of value since damages to the vehicle were great than 50%.
What a nightmare! Will it ever stop? It's been going on since 12/28/07.

Thanks for the head's up. I will check out your review on Amica!
We have contacted them and actually yesterday afternoon got a call from State Farm generated from our complaint.
The lady just kept reiterating "well a couple of our associates told you why...." yadda yadda yadda.
She stated she will put together her details & 2 managers will review it....nothing will come of it, unfortunately. They have their position & are holding it close to heart!
Thanks again for the message!

One very serious... (Reply to this comment)

Piece of advice here. DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT ENTERTAIN THE IDEA OF "AMICA" INSURANCE. i'VE HAD EXACTLY THE SAME SORT OF PROBLEMS WITH THEM Read my "Epinion" , "I asked the Executive Vice-President the following question".
Excellent review. I am SO VERY SORRY to hear of your problem. Is there a state insurance commission with which you can file a complaint?
Cheers,

Thank you. I keep hoping. But, we are going into the 3rd month now, I am starting to give up hope!
But, every so often, I get my dander back up and want to give it both barrels a fight like crazy!
Thanks for your comments.

I'm sorry this happened! (Reply to this comment)

I had a like experience back in 1993, but it was Farmers, not State Farm. After yanking me around and, sometimes, flat out lying to me about what they would, could, and might cover, they tripled my premium for having made the claim. I complained, and they dropped me like a hot potato. The accident was not my fault, but that didn't seem to be the point. Not only did they drop me, they put my name out there as "high risk" even though I had never been responsible for an accident. NO one would offer me anything but flat liability for five years following the accident, and that was at a rate three times what I had been paying for full coverage before the accident that wasn't my fault.
I feel for you. I hope you can force them to make it right.

It amazes me and stuns me how poorly this has turned out and it wasn't even my fault!
I appreciate your comments.

that you had such a bad experience with them, especially after being a customer of theirs for so many years.
