Pros:Great customer service until underwritting cuts you, then its bad! Reliable if your perfect!
Cons:report every word you say to underwritting&Lexus driving record when using them for towing.
The Bottom Line: Don't use State Farm unless you are perfect and plan on having less than 4 incidents (including minor speeding tickets & towing needs) in 4 years.
If you happen to have the towing benefit with State Farm all ready, don't give them any information as to why you are having your car towed. I had my car towed by them and told them that I ran over something. Even though I didn't take out a claim, even though they didn't have to pay any money. They counted this as a "my fault" incident, when it wasn't clearly my fault. The parking garage was dark and poorly signed. They had a 6 inch block at the bottom of a dip, as I approached it, I couldn't see the block and it took out my transmission. Think twice before you take out a claim for a small amount! It only takes 4 "at fault" incidents in a 3 year period & they will drop you. The total of all of my claims don't equal the amount of premiums in a year, much less for the same time period and they are dropping me. 1 small speeding ticket, 2 very small fender benders - due to backing up out of private driveways (nothing reckless, mildly careless, but not reckless, no tickets, no injuries) & the 1 time I used them for towing and didn't even take out a claim. I am such a risk!! Heaven forbid! They must forget the rest of your record because before the speeding ticket, I had a perfect record for 10 years. Again, I am such a risk!
