I have had USAA since I was old enough to drive. Since my dad was retired from the Air Force, I qualified to pick up USAA benefits. I can remember growing up as a kid in the 70s and USAA always took care of my dad's insurance needs without any problems.
When I went away to college, I gained a led foot and received my share of
traffic tickets. Soon my insurance skyrocketed. However looking back I came to realize I was just darn lucky USAA didn't cancel me. When I got out of college, I had 9 points on my record. Luckily not only did USAA not cancel my insurance, but they gave payment options to pay my high bills monthly, quarterly or semi-annually. Of course I chose monthly. Then at the end of the year, USAA sends a refund check based on the amount of claims made throughout the preceding year. I did put in a ton of money throughout the year, but USAA would send me a check for between $400 - $500 in December. What a Christmas bonus!
Now, I am much wiser, have more bills and have to pinch pennies more. I have no points and my rebate is about $80-$150. However now I am insuring 3 vehicles. Also I have added my homeowners insurance and my life insurance to my USAA policy. Every time I call I get immediate service, and if the representative isn't in, I can leave a message and be assured they will call me back usually the same day or early the next.
If you qualify as a potential member of USAA, this is definitely the company you should go with. But don't just trust me... judging from the other opinions on USAA, you can't find a cheaper high quality, customer service oriented insurance company anywhere!
