We have been with USAA since 1993 and could not ask for more in an insurance company. Our rates steadily go down every 6 months with the exception of moving to California, and the reimbursement at the end of the year is wonderful.
When I have broken down on the side of the road USAA is always there. One phone call gets a tow truck out to help me and the best thing is that the first question they ask you is whether you are in a safe place. You can call on them if you break down, run out of gas, or lock your keys in the car and without any charge to you, they send someone out to help you. All I have to do is sign my name and USAA takes care of the rest.
Now when you get in to an accident they are great also. There is no waiting for their adjustor to show up before you can go get your car fixed. A quick phone call to USAA and they take your information over the phone. Once you are done they ask you if you have a place in mind that you would like to take your car for repairs and if you do not they will tell you places that are close to you that they recommend. The wonderful thing about this is that the places that they recommend are part of their "STARS" program and they give you a lifetime warranty on the work done their. You pay your deductible and then you are done.
I also get rental reimbursement through USAA and it comes in handy when you have the car in for repairs. If you go through Enterprise Rent a Car then all you do is sign the bill and they bill USAA directly. If you go through someone else then you pay and USAA will reimburse you.
Customer Service is great, I have never had a rude representative or one that acted like they did not have the time to answer my questions. That is a very important aspect for me. I would recommend USAA to anyone that is qualified.
