I am a member of the Energy First Credit Union for Southern California Gas Co. employees and certain Sempra Energy/Pacific Enterprises affiliates, and family members. I like this credit union b/c they have better interest rates on savings than the bank (up to 4% in savings accts) as well as high rate CD's and low interest on home and auto loans. They offer a variety of Services to help their clients including direct deposit, checking, ATM, internet banking and bill pay, as well as payroll deduction for home/auto loans.
The only problem I have is that they only have two branches which are quite distant from where I live, but they do have an affiliation program where I can make deposits and withdrawals from other credit unions in my area so that I don't have to drive the 90 minutes from my home to get to a branch office unless I want to set up an acct in person. After that I can go virtually anywhere to make a deposit/withdrawal. I'm pleased so far with my experiences at EFCU and hope to continue the pleasure of doing business with them.
