For years I have dreaded the bank statement arriving in the mail. I would pull out all the bills, the cancelled checks, the envelopes, stamps, and calculator. For an hour or more I would pour over numbers that just refused to add up. Inevitably I would have to call the bank to see if certain checks had cleared.
NO MORE!
Now, I let Navy Federal balance my checkbook for me. The site is so user-friendly that I log on everyday to check out the status of my account. I can log in all those atm receipts that I would have otherwise lost, I can see the debit transactions right away. Rather than fussing over weeks old financial reports, I can now see up to the minute information about my account.Another fantastic feature is the money transfer option. I send money to my savings, checking, loan account, or even my son's account at the same bank.
Another plus about Navy Federal is that they have never turned us down for a loan. We have had many car loans and even personal loans to consolidate bills. The process is practically painless, except for the paying it off part! The even have loan by phone, so you can do the whole process over the telephone in your pajamas. Once you are approved, they process the whole thing and will even directly deposit the money in your bank account so that you don't have to come in and sign a check.
When it comes to buying cars, they almost always have the best interest rate. Other than new car special financing offers from the manufacturer, chances are high that Navy Federal will the banks in town.
The staff at this credit union have always been very patient and helpful. We have banked in California, Hawaii, Virginia, and North Carolina and never encountered a fussy teller yet.
The big drawback is that they do not have many ATM's. As a result, you can end up spending on ATM fees what you have saved in checking costs.
Navy Federal is a terrific credit union and really goes out of its way to help out the members. These days, however, I get my cashback whenever I use my debit card so it doesn't cost me anything.
In summary, Navy Federal is a super financial organization. We have never been turned down for a loan and always get great rates! My mom, dad, son, and two sisters all have opened accounts through my husband. All of us love the fact that checking is completely free! Many bank fees are becoming very unreasonable. There are a million reasons to join Navy Fed. These are just a few...
