Pros:Comfortable Adjustable Cloth Strap, Convenient Zipper Pocket, Fits Thicker than Average Yoga Mats
The Bottom Line: You'll enjoy the freedom this stylish yoga mat bag affords you to dig through your purse!
I didn’t really understand the benefit of a yoga mat bag until my husband purchased me the Gaiam Chakra Embroidered Yoga Mat Bag for Valentine’s Day. It’s one of those things I would have never bought for myself, because I was used to my routine of just rolling up my mat and shoving it under my arm. Now I never go to yoga class without this bag and here’s why:

I’m a woman and I carry a lot of things with me wherever I go, typically including at least an oversized purse and water bottle. So having one less thing in my hand or crammed under my arm turns out to be very convenient for opening the car door or fishing for my house keys, checkbook or calendar.
This yoga bag has an adjustable thick (almost 3” wide) strap that rests comfortably on your shoulder. I tried my moms yoga mat strap once that buckles around the mat and then has a part that you throw over your shoulder. But I found that it kind of dug into my shoulder and the mat wobbled around a lot always making me think it was going to slip out of the strap or fall off of my shoulder. The Gaiam Yoga Mat Bag is quite an upgrade from the underarm shuffle or the mat strap.
Oh, and it has a large zipper pocket to shove things in such as payment for class or a light snack…I’m pregnant and don’t go anywhere these days without a string cheese or baggie of crackers, and I’ve used this pouch a few times to tote my little cravings.
Finally, the 7 different colored embroidered symbols (don’t ask me what they mean, I have no idea) are super bright and cute. And the mat bag accommodates my “thicker than average” yoga mat that my husband also purchased me just because he’s super sweet and was thinking about my comfort at prenatal yoga.
Dimensions: 25.5" tall with 7" diameter (cinches closed at top with draw string)
Overall, a fun addition to my workout related items!
