Game Boy Advanced is out and rocks. It is a definite improvement over some of the older systems. This tiny machine packs a lot of power. Improvements can be easily seen. First it is in a new ergonomic size. The screen is better, including better color and graphics. there is a faster processor and quite a few more improvements.
The hand held gaming machine is much better than it's previous incarnations. First off it packs a 32 bit processor. This helps to make it a great gaming system. The old Game Boy's only had an 8 and 16 bit processor. The processor is the same power as the old Playstaion. Second the system is backwards compatible, which means it can play all old Game Boy and Game Boy Color games. This opens the system up to having thousands of titles available. Granted there are some crappy games out there. The screen shows vibrant colors, and the new games really show it off. The thing I like best about this system is that it comes in some funky colors. The coolest feature is that it can be used as a controller for Nintendo's upcoming Game Cube gaming system.
There are some problems with this system though. First the screen is tiny, it is hard to see small details to see. Also, the screen is not back lit so it can not be seen in the dark, you have to buy a special light that runs between $7.99 and $9.99 to play the games in the dark. Since the system is really targeted towads younger gamers there is another problem. That problem is the button size is small, and feels a little flimsy. i really worry about the buttons wearing out. One of my biggest gripes comes to the fact that while the system is backwards compatible the old cartridges stick out well past the back. This is because the new cartridges are about 1/2 the size of the old ones.
