RoadDoggDan's Full Review: Centipede for Dreamcast
Friedrice said it right with his one little word: tedious. This game is boring. At first it seems, well, OK in it's gameplay, but after the second level, it gets annoying. Here's the story: Your Wally, a kid from the Wee-people as their called. You are the chosen one to help save the Wee-people from these huge bugs. You are sent out in a special vehicle (I'm too lazy to get my game and look at the name) which will help save them. Wow. This is a step away from Centipede, but hey, you want the original Centipede for the Dreamcast? Thought not. That's basically the plot for the game. Now, aside from the humorous opening sequence, this game gets annoying fast. Nothing funny about that. All you do is save the wee-people and kill the spiders, centipedes or whatever bug happens to be on that level. That's it. Now, maybe theres a boss at the end of game, but I, personally, don't want to finish this game for that would mean I would have to PLAY it. The thing that brings this game up to a 3 star rating is the graphics, sound and the fact that it has the original Centipede game on it. The Centipede game takes up 16 blocks out of your VMU per level, so if you want to take your chance at this game, get another VMU, becuase your probably going to need it. The graphics are great, and the sequences are funny, and that's partly what made me bring up. Sound is fine, and the game music is fine. The original Centipede game is what it's meant to be. If it weren't for those three things, I would have returned this game and got my $50 back. All in all, if you really want this game, buy it at WWW.EBWorld.com for around $30. Before you do that, rent it and see if you like it enough to buy. If not, stay away.
