temjin's Full Review: Dead Or Alive 2 for Dreamcast
This game is all about the women really... they look the best, and they fight the best, the guys are just added in for reasons I really can't explain. Now I spent much anticipation waiting for this game, the specs looked excellent, and I saw all the hype in the magazines and on the net. I was certain that when this game hit the shelves I had to get my own copy pronto. So I waited for about three months and the only thing that was a real draw back was I read that it had a little story to it. But sure enough I beat it with every character and I had a hard time making sense of anything. But who cares about story when you have Lei-Fang, Kasumi, and Ayane. Plus those school girl suits rock, just run around on the elevator level...you'll soon notice that every other 3 seconds floor fans come on and skirts fly!
However I heard many things say that this title would kill Soul Calibur ...blasfamy! You know I really hate it when people say that kind of stuff, always compairing racing games to gran turismo, and rpgs to final fantasy. Why should games be compaired like this? Dead or Alive 2 is a great game in it's own right, just because it's not better than Soul Calibur (In my opinion) does not mean it's not a kick ass game. Anyway lets analyse this game fully now, the graphics are excellent, the gameplay is a little slow but the moves are good aspecially the parrying system, the story is uh...not much, as far as how long you'll be playing it, the girls should keep you coming back, but that's about it. Worse part about the game? Oh yes, the main bad guy. Ugh! He looks so stupid, i think that in the next game he should be replaced by a female in black leather.. speaking of the next game, they should get rid of all the guys...making it a game that's all about cat fighting.... ahhh that would be worth waiting for.
So if you are into fighting games don't hold back, this game is well worth it, with some of the hottest broads in gaming history, and some of the best graphics on the market, if you don't have it already you're missing out.
