temjin's Full Review: Gaunle Legends for Dreamcast
Oh yeah this game kicks @$$!! This game is great with friends or without. With plenty of characters to choose from, and a good supply of levels, this game will keep you going for quite sometime. You can build up characters and it only takes 3 blocks from you VMU to save each character. I personally have to 4 characters saved.
With the power of the dreamcast this home console version surpasses the arcade, with beautiful graphics, smooth gameplay, and that classic guy in the background who reminds you when you are about to die. Another thing that I found interesting was when I was playing with my brother and a friend I opened a treasure chest, and my brother stole it's contents, and my character yelled "pardon me but that was mine". Anyway back to the bare basics, this game has it where it counts. Not only is it better than the arcade it beats out the playstation and 64 versions. The Dreamcast version also has an extra level. So if you plan on getting a copy of Gauntlet Legends, the DC version is the best way to go.
It also has a few RPG elements, with levels, potions, and power ups. The story isn't anything ground breaking, but it's alright, typical of all other Gauntlet games. So the bottom line is it's got the dreamcast quality, and is an overall great game.
