ingridjen's Full Review: Centipede for Game Boy Color
My nine-year-old grandson received "Centipede" for Christmas for his Play Station. Of course, whenever I go to visit, I have to play games with him and his sister. This game really did get me going. It was so much fun that before I went home that evening I stopped off at the video store and rented one to play after I got home.
The object of this game is to shoot the spiders, fleas and scorpions as they fall from above you, each giving points. There are also mushrooms that pop up and other critters falling from above that you shoot to get points as well. If one of the critters falls and hit you this ends the round, you continue until you lose all three of your plays or if you are good you can gain extra lives by getting one of the star-shaped critters.
I think you will have more fun with two players as you are trying to see who can have the highest points in the game.
Each time you shoot using the controls you can feel the vibrations of your shooter as you hit your target. This game may not be for everyone as there is a warning that comes with the game if you experience dizziness or disorientation to discontinue use of the game. If you don't have problems with flashing lights or strange patterns, you will really enjoy this game.
