| mattefuller's Full Review: Game and Watch Gallery 2 for Game Boy Color |
First off I would like to say that this is one of those games that is not very well know yet is and awesome game. This is a game that can obviously be one of the best gameboy games ever created. You may say ohhhh gameboy that ain't sayin' much, but you'd be surprised if you got off your lazy butt and did a little research. You may not think there is much competition in gameboy games but there really is as a gameboy loyalist I can honestly say I have played over 50 gameboy games, and many are excellent, but Game and Watch gallery is really one of the best (as in top 5), second only to Zelda and Mario Tennis, and Legend of the River King.
Game and Watch Gallery is a game for Color Gameboy. It itself is not really a game it is a game that has games 6 to be exact, well 14 considering there is a modern and a classic version to each game and 3 modern versions to one there is also a super hard (only modern), hard, and easy of each version of each game modern AND classic so there is really a grand total of 36 different games. The six "base" games are: Ball, Donkey Kong, Helmet, Parachute, Vermin, and Chef.
The object of Game and Watch Gallery is to get stars. You get stars by getting two hundred points in any game you get a star for every two hundred up to 1,000 so for 200 you get one, 400 two and so on up to 5 stars for 1,000. You do not get a star each time you get two hundred however if the first time you get 250 points you get one star then next time you try you get 457 you do not get three stars total but two total be cause your highest score was 457 so they give you stars based on your highest attempt. Suppose next time you get 1243 you will not get 6 stars but 5.
In Ball the object in classic is to keep some balls from hitting the ground and breeaking by moving your arms which automatically catches the ball and throws it back up in the air. The object in modern is similar where as there are different objects than just balls to keep in the air.
In Donkey Kong the object in classic is to jump over barrels thrown by donkey kong and reach the top and try to make the platform he is standing on go away so he will fall down. You score points for jumping over barrells, reaching the top of the level and beginning to make his platform disapear, and making Donkey Kong fall to the ground.
In Helmet the object is to go from the door of one building to the door of another while avoiding being hit by falling objects. In classic points are scored by avoiding objects, and making it to the other door. In modern points can be scored in three different ways: avoiding the falling objects, reaching the other side, and collecting coins.
In Parachute the object of the game is to catch the characters (Donkey Kong, Yoshi, Toad, and Koopa) falling from the sky. Points are scored in the obvious way, by catching the falling characters ddddddddduuuuuuuuuhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!
In Vermin Classic the object is to clunk moles on the head as they come out of their hole. In modern the object is to clunk bad guys on the head before they reach Yoshi's Egg's and crack them. Points are scored in the obvious way too by clunking them on the head.
Lastly the object in Chef Classic is to repetatively toss food into the air without droppuing the food. The object in modern is to catch the food that Mario and Luigi throw into the air, fully cook the food by hitting it into the air to make it fully cooked then feed it to Yoshi. points are scored by hitting the food into the air and by feeding Yoshi.
This game overall is excellent.
That concludes my review. Have a nice day and refer me to your friends!!!!!! See Ya!!!
