| TAMMIE's Full Review: Beetle Adventure Racing for Nintendo 64 |
What Fun! Its my sons birthday and Mom can't wait for new Nintendo gifts. I love playing Nintendo, I saw that this one was highly rated on where else, Epinions and thought we'd give it a go.
The different levels are great for a wide range of kids, our 7 year old who tends to frustrate fast can find his pace, our 9 year old loves the surprises on the harder courses and Dad, well, Dad plays with the easily frustrated 7 year old. Me, I love to play against the boys or against the computer by myself.
At first I thought its just racing courses and thats all but after reading the book (which we hardly ever do, unless we are really, really stuck) we understood that there is a Beetle Battle where you have to collect ladybugs and find the exit first, all the while activating different items that slow your opponents down. What Fun! There are different paths which we wizzed by the first few times and didn't even notice. I was playing my 7 year old and I said "look I'm going through a castle", he said yeah me too and a second later we crashed in a head on, we just stopped looked at each other and laughed out loud, both of us saying Cooooollllll.
The other great thing about this is that as you win you can unlock new tracks and new cars to choose. The graphics are pretty good, my 9 year old says he likes that you can jump and crash (hes played other that wouldn't let ya do that). I have to admit I think I still like Snowboard Kids 2 the best out of a lot of racing games but this one comes pretty close.
