This is an under loved game, but in a way though it deserves it. It only has four race tracks, but they are loaded with shortcuts and many points and bonuses to unlock such as multiplayer arenas and design conscious cars. However the points will be hard to collect for a novice gamer and therefore multiplay options will be limited to only three or four arenas. The controls are realalistic, but will at times look at an old control pad in fear of its snapping. The levels are very sweet but limited to four; you feel very claustraphobic. The AI is smart enough to take advantage of any lapse, but their exelleration in straightaways is almost unholy. The way the speed is shown is realistic but going only 100mph doesn't make you stare in awe like Pod Racer [the 64's champ of racing]. But BAdvR does have more texture and can be compared to a low-medium low Dreamcast title [don't push that though as a reason to buy]. The collection of points WILL BE frustrating, but worth it.

If you're a novice and you gotta have this title, find a strategy giude to optimize play, if you can't get it in the first eight hours.
