We have been looking to rent this game for a while now, and the local store has finally gotten it in! We kept it for an extra week! Is the game perfect? Hardly, it will keep you and 3 of your friends busy for a week or two though. Here's how I break the game down: (ratings are from 1-5)
Graphics : (3.5) This game can brag about something most other racing games (or anyother type of game) can't, there is no Draw-In or Pop-Up! However, the graphics are in low resolution and suffer from blurry textures. And its hard to see if a car from far away.
Sound : (3.5) The music is'nt that bad most of the time. But the announcer is!If you can only fit so much speech on a cartridge to begin with, why make the announcer repetitive? All it does is make us players go for the mute button, and then there really is'nt any point to have even included an announcer.
Control : (4) The control can be a little loose sometimes, but the object is to crash anyways, so it don't matter if you spin out of control into another car.
FunFactor : (4) Once you take the time to unlock the hidden cars and tracks, you can have fun with the 4 player modes. I just wish there was more modes, and more than 4 tracks total. If you have the chance to get this game for $30 or less, go ahead, its worth it. Otherwise, just rent it for a few days, you'll be done with it.
