Pros: The mini games are very fun.
Cons: Most of the game is pure luck.
The Bottom Line: This game isn't intended for single player,so if you have 3 friends,go buy it,if you don't have any buddies to play with,DO NOT buy it.

I rented the used game,it was awesome.Then I bought Mario Party 2.This is is very fun!The story line sucks because its not detailed enough.
GRAPHICS:7/10
Not much has improved in this section.It is more of the same graphics in the original Mario Party.The graphics are pretty good in mini games,but awful when your on the game boards.
CONTROLS:10/10
The controls are very simple.You are just rolling a dice to tell you how much spaces you go,answering questions,and looking at instructions when you are playing a mini game.The mini games aren't control rotation like in the other party game that really hurts your hand,but now its button mashing which still hurts your hand.
SOUNDS/MUSIC:7/10
The game has some pretty cute tunes.There voices are awful....cough...Peach...cough,but you gotta love Warios voice.It has there own tunes in Mario Party 2(theme songs in game boards),in the first game,they didn't.(The music in the first one had music that came from previous Mario games)In future Mario Party games,they should really fix Donkey kong,because he has a bad voice,and he doesn't look very good like DK64,or they should replace DK with Diddy Kong.
GAMEPLAY:9/10
These Mario Party games were built for multiplayers,not single player.Single player can be very boring.Multiplayer is very fun.If you don't have friends,I think your an idiot if you buy this game with no friends.The only fun thing in this party is the mini games.There are very fun ones like Grab Bag,Crazy Cutter,Face Lift,Bumper Balls,and Lava Tile Isle and more.Half are the mini games are not worth playing because most of the ones I hate are based on luck(Chance Time,Bowsers Big Blast,Day at the Races).That means if you have 3 stars and tons of coins,and you are first,you can come down the 3rd or 4th if Boo is near one of the players,they can steal your coins,or even your star,and then someone lands on a !(Chance Time),and you might have to give coins,or stars,or even trade all your stars,and your coins to another player,which is all based on luck.So you better watch out,but of course,you can get back them by stealing,or having fun just stealing stuff from other players from items to coins to stars to everything.There is another major problem,its how much turns,this game could last for an hour,even if its the lowest turns,this game is not short,its long!
OVERALL:8.5/10
Its fun,and theres mini games that last a long,long time.
Just don't play it alone!
