| DexterFreak's Full Review: Mario Party 2 for Nintendo 64 |
To start off, I really enjoyed Mario Party. It was a lot of fun to face all of your friends on a board game and then try to win on all the minigames. Mario Party 2, unfortunately, doesn't have the same fun factor that Mario Party did. While the boards on Mario Party were short and fun, the boards on Mario Party 2 are long and tiring. There are a lot of new minigames in the 2nd game, but they quickly get repetitive, as a lot of them aren't as well set up as the ones in Mario Party, and require more luck than skill. I'd have to agree that like the first Mario Party, 1 player mode can get pretty irritating with the artificial intelligent computer players. Other than the new boards and minigames, everything from Mario Party 2 isn't any different. You'll swear you feel deja vu. The graphics have remained fairly unchanged, and the music is a lot more annoying than it should be. If you haven't played the first Mario Party, give the sequel a try. If you have played the first one, don't bother, there isn't too many new ideas.
