I used to love playing the original Rampage in the arcades with friends. That is this game in its element, a quarter-stealing monster to have a ball with. However, the N64 game, though graphically improved, plays quite weak.
This game, when first turned on, looks like a lot of fun. The monsters and backgrounds are very well drawn, and there seems to be a lot going on on screen, with very little slowdown. That is about where the fun ends. After about 5 levels one will quickly realize how repetitive the gameplay is. Run amok, smash buildings, smash another building, don't get killed. Though it doesn't really matter if you do, because unlimited credits destroy any challenge the game may possess.
After going for a few levels, you may wait for the bonus games that are supposed to be a lot of fun, but really aren't, just as drab as the rest of the gameplay. I would recommend that you skip this one for sure.
