Years ago, when I was a little boy, a new game came out at the local arcade. It was called Robotron, and I spent hours on in playing the most addictive arcade game I've ever played that year. Was this what Midway was thinking when they released the "sequel" to the 1980 hit, Robotron?
Sure, it worked for the 80s, everybody loved shooting the same enemies over and over, as the level progressed into more enemies, eventually you can't take it anymore and you die. I don't think Midway thought this all through. But we're now past the 90s, and Midway thinks that this type of gaming will surpass our expectations at all? C'mon, we got games like "Quake2","Super Mario 64","Zelda: Ocarina of Time". Remakes of originals, and so good that it catches up with the 90s theme. However, Midway fails to acknowledge the fact that this type of gaming is not good for someone that is planning to sit there in front of his tv for hours. In about 5 minutes of this mind numbing poor excuse of a videogame, you can't tired of robotron, trying to kill as many robots as possible, the same robots over and over, the same sort of levels, really doing nothing with any sort of challenge at all. What the heck was Midway drinking when they were making robotron 64?
Don't even think of playing this game, it's horrible! Don't even think about wasting 5 bucks for renting this piece of trash (unless of course, you want to experience major physical pain... ya masochist.) With its repetitive gameplay and very badly detailed graphics, you'll never need another scapegoat for the fall of videogame gameplay again.
